9th Class Maths Chapter 11 Online Test: 25 MCQs with Answers

This 9th class maths chapter 11 online test covers Chapter 11 of the Class 9 Mathematics course, Loci and Construction. It has 25 multiple-choice questions, shown one at a time, and it marks itself the moment you finish. There is no timer and no sign-up. When you press finish you get your score, and every question is shown again with your answer, the correct option and a short explanation of why that option is right. An Urdu medium version of the same test is given further down this page.

What Chapter 11 Covers

The 25 questions are spread across the whole unit rather than one exercise, so the test is a fair check of whether you are ready for a class test or the annual paper:

  • Triangle inequality — a triangle exists only if the sum of any two sides is greater than the third.
  • Types of triangle — equilateral, isosceles, acute, right-angled and obtuse, and recognising a 6-8-10 triangle as right-angled.
  • Medians, altitudes, angle bisectors and perpendicular bisectors, and what each one is.
  • Points of concurrency — the centroid, orthocentre, incentre and circumcentre, and which lines produce each.
  • Loci — the locus of points equidistant from a point, from two points, from a line, and from two intersecting lines.
  • Construction with instruments — which angles can be made with a compass, bisecting an angle, and the ambiguous SSA case.
  • Scale drawing — converting a real distance into a drawn length using a given scale.

Revise These Before You Start

Most marks in this unit are lost on the same few points. Read through these once before attempting the test:

  • Medians meet at the centroid, altitudes at the orthocentre, angle bisectors at the incentre, and perpendicular bisectors at the circumcentre.
  • The locus of points equidistant from a fixed point is a circle; from two fixed points it is the perpendicular bisector of the segment joining them.
  • The locus of points equidistant from two intersecting lines is the pair of angle bisectors.
  • Only angles that can be built by repeatedly bisecting 60° and 90° are constructible with compasses alone, so 60°, 45° and 30° are fine but 70° is not.
  • Three or more lines through one point are concurrent, and that shared point is the point of concurrency.
  • In a scale of 1 cm to 10 km, a distance of 24 km is drawn as 2.4 cm.

How the Test Works

  • 25 questions, one at a time, with Next and Previous buttons.
  • No timer, so you can work a calculation out on paper before answering.
  • Automatic marking the moment you finish.
  • Answer review with the correct option and an explanation for every question.
  • Retake as many times as you like, and your score is not stored anywhere.

Start the Chapter 11 Online Test

Keep the four points of concurrency straight in your head before you start — several questions in this chapter test nothing else. Keep a pen and rough paper beside you: the numerical questions are quick, but they are much easier to get right written down than in your head. Aim for 20 out of 25 or better before you move on to the next unit.

Mistakes Students Make in This Unit

When you look through your answer review, check whether any of your wrong answers came from these:

  • Swapping the orthocentre and the centroid.
  • Giving the circumcentre when the question asked about angle bisectors, which meet at the incentre.
  • Forgetting the triangle inequality and accepting side lengths that cannot form a triangle.
  • Rubbing out the construction arcs, which are what the marks are actually for.
  • Describing a locus in words when the question wants the shape named.

What to Do After the Test

A score on its own teaches you very little. Go through the answer review properly and write down the number of every question you got wrong, along with the topic it came from. If two or three of them come from the same section of the unit, that section is what you revise next — not the whole chapter again. Then retake the test a day or two later rather than immediately, because answering correctly from memory is not the same as understanding it. Once you are consistently scoring above 20, move on and come back to this test in your final week of revision.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the incentre and the circumcentre?

The incentre is where the angle bisectors meet and is the centre of the circle drawn inside the triangle. The circumcentre is where the perpendicular bisectors of the sides meet and is the centre of the circle drawn through all three vertices.

What is the locus of points equidistant from two fixed points?

The perpendicular bisector of the line segment joining them. Every point on that line is the same distance from both, and no point off it is.

Can every angle be constructed with a compass?

No. Only angles obtained by bisecting and combining 60° and 90° can be, which covers 15°, 30°, 45°, 75° and so on. An angle such as 70° needs a protractor.

Is this test free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit on retakes and nothing is locked. Your score is not saved or shared.
