Class 9 Mathematics: Syllabus, Paper Pattern and Free Resources

Class 9 Mathematics in the 2025-26 course has thirteen units: real numbers, logarithms, sets and functions, factorization, linear equations and inequalities, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, logic, similar figures, graphs of functions, loci and construction, information handling, and probability. The spread is wider than most students expect, and the units that get skipped in revision are usually logic, loci and construction, and probability, all three of which are short and high-scoring once learned.

The written paper carries 75 marks over 3 hours. Fifteen of those marks are compulsory multiple-choice questions. Thirty-six come from short questions, where nine parts are offered in each of three questions and you attempt any six. The remaining twenty-four come from long questions, two chosen from three and one chosen from two, each split into two parts. That works out at roughly two and a half minutes per mark, which is less time than it sounds once construction questions are involved.

Mathematics is the one subject where reading solutions genuinely does not work. Everything below is free, and the order that works for most students is to attempt a chapter online test to find the gaps, work those specific topics from the book, then sit a full guess paper with instruments to hand and a clock running.
