This 9th class physics guess paper collection gives you 25 complete practice papers for Class 9 Physics, each one written to the Punjab Boards paper pairing scheme for 2026 and set on the current syllabus. Every paper is bilingual: each question is printed in English and in Urdu on the same page, so English medium and Urdu medium students work from exactly the same file. Each paper carries 60 marks and is timed for 2 hours 10 minutes, which is the real annual paper rather than a shortened practice sheet. Download any of them below, sit it under exam conditions, and mark yourself afterwards. For chapter-by-chapter work alongside these, the site also has Class 9 Physics online tests that mark themselves, and the full Class 9 Physics section collects everything available for the subject in one place.
What You Actually Get in This Set
Twenty-five papers sounds like a lot until you see how much practice it really represents. Counted across the whole set, these papers give you:
- 300 multiple-choice questions — 12 in every paper, one mark each.
- 600 short questions — 24 offered in every paper across three sections, of which you attempt 15.
- 75 long questions — three in every paper, each split into two parts, so 150 separate parts in total.
- 1,500 marks of exam-standard practice if you sit all twenty-five papers.
- Both mediums in one file — no separate English and Urdu downloads to keep track of.
The papers are numbered 01 to 25 for convenience only. They are not arranged in order of difficulty and they do not build on one another, so you can start at any number. What they are not is a shortlist of questions guaranteed to appear in your board paper. Nobody has that list, and any site claiming otherwise is guessing. What a guess paper does honestly is show you the shape of the exam often enough that nothing about the real paper catches you out.
The Paper Pattern These Papers Follow
All 25 papers use the same structure, which is the structure of the Punjab board annual paper for Class 9 Physics. Knowing this pattern is itself worth marks, because a student who knows exactly how many parts to attempt wastes no time deciding in the hall:
- Q.1 — Objective, 12 marks. Twelve multiple-choice questions, one mark each, all compulsory. Encircle one option.
- Q.2, Q.3 and Q.4 — Short questions, 10 marks each. Eight parts are offered in each question and you attempt any five, two marks per part. That is 30 marks in total and the easiest place in the paper to lose them.
- Q.5, Q.6 and Q.7 — Long questions, 18 marks. Three questions are offered and you attempt any two, nine marks each, every question split into a four-mark part and a five-mark part.
- Total — 60 marks in 2 hours 10 minutes.
Work out what that means for your timing before you sit the first paper. Sixty marks in 130 minutes is a little over two minutes per mark. The objective section should take you twelve to fifteen minutes, not thirty. The short questions deserve about fifty-five minutes between them. That leaves roughly fifty minutes for two long questions and ten minutes at the end to check your work. Students who run out of time have almost always lost it in Q.1, sitting on two or three multiple-choice questions they were never going to get.

Chapter by Chapter: What Comes Up in These Papers
The Class 9 Physics book has nine chapters, and every one of them appears across this set. Here is what actually comes up, chapter by chapter, with the self-marking online test and the solved exercise questions linked for each one.
- Chapter 1 — Physical Quantities and Measurements. Base and derived quantities, SI units and prefixes from femto to giga, significant figures, the least count of a vernier calliper and a screw gauge, and questions such as calculating the number of seconds in a day, a week and a month using the right prefix. Practise with the Chapter 1 online test and the Chapter 1 exercise short questions.
- Chapter 2 — Kinematics. Scalars and vectors, representing a vector graphically, distance and displacement, speed and velocity, acceleration, the equations of motion and motion under gravity. See the Chapter 2 online test and the Chapter 2 exercise short questions.
- Chapter 3 — Dynamics. Newton laws of motion, inertia, mass against weight, friction, tension and momentum, with numericals on force and acceleration. See the Chapter 3 online test and the Chapter 3 exercise short questions.
- Chapter 4 — Turning Effects of Force. Resolving a force into components, torque, the principle of moments, couples, centre of gravity, the conditions of equilibrium and circular motion. A standard long question gives a 200 N force at 30° and asks for the x and y components. See the Chapter 4 online test and the Chapter 4 exercise short questions.
- Chapter 5 — Work, Energy and Power. Work done, kinetic and potential energy, conservation of energy, power and efficiency, with numericals in joules and watts. See the Chapter 5 online test and the Chapter 5 exercise short questions.
- Chapter 6 — Mechanical Properties of Matter. Density and pressure, Hooke law and its applications, stress and strain, Young modulus, Pascal law and Archimedes principle. See the Chapter 6 online test and the Chapter 6 exercise short questions.
- Chapter 7 — Thermal Properties of Matter. The particle theory of matter, temperature against heat, converting between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin, thermometers, specific heat capacity and thermal expansion. Converting 98.6 °F into Celsius and Kelvin is a recurring long question. See the Chapter 7 online test and the Chapter 7 exercise short questions.
- Chapter 8 — Magnetism. Magnetic materials, properties of magnets, field lines, induced magnetism, electromagnets and the right-hand grip rule, domains, and uses from circuit breakers to maglev trains. See the Chapter 8 online test and the Chapter 8 exercise short questions.
- Chapter 9 — Nature of Science. The branches of physics, interdisciplinary fields such as biophysics and medical physics, the steps of the scientific method, and the difference between a hypothesis, a theory and a law. See the Chapter 9 online test and the Chapter 9 exercise short questions.
For the longer written answers, the Class 9 Physics notes section also has the solved constructive questions for every chapter, which are closer in style to the nine-mark questions in Q.5 to Q.7 than the short questions are.
How to Use These Papers Properly
The single biggest mistake students make with guess papers is reading them. Reading a question and thinking that you know that one is not practice, and it is why so many students walk into the hall confident and walk out puzzled. A guess paper only works if you attempt it like the real thing.
Print the paper, or keep it open on screen, then close your textbook and your notes. Put a clock in front of you and give it the full 2 hours 10 minutes in one sitting. Write your answers out in full, including the steps you are tempted to do in your head. In physics the method carries most of the marks on a numerical: write the formula, substitute the values with their units, then give the answer with its unit. An unexplained correct number frequently scores less than a clearly worked solution with a slip in the arithmetic. Draw every diagram and label it.
When the time is up, stop writing, then mark yourself honestly against your textbook and the chapter notes. Keep a single running list of every topic you could not do. After four or five papers that list stops growing and starts repeating, and the repeats are exactly what you need to revise. That list is worth more than your score.
A Four-Week Plan Using These 25 Papers
Twenty-five papers is about a month of serious preparation if you space them sensibly:
- Week 1 — revise and test by chapter. Do not touch a full paper yet. Work through your weakest chapters and take the matching online test after each one, since it marks itself and explains every answer. Finish the week with papers 1 and 2.
- Week 2 — build the habit. Three full papers, spaced two days apart, each sat for the complete 2 hours 10 minutes. Mark each one before starting the next.
- Week 3 — raise the volume. Four or five papers. By now you should be finishing inside the time. If you are not, the problem is almost always the objective section or the numericals, and both are fixable with drill.
- Week 4 — polish. Four more papers, plus a return to the two or three you did worst on in week two. Sitting a paper a second time is not cheating; it is how you confirm the gap has closed.
That comes to roughly fifteen papers attempted properly, which beats twenty-five papers skimmed. Keep the rest for the final week, or for days when a full sitting is not possible and you want to attempt only the objective and short sections.
Mistakes That Quietly Cost Marks in Class 9 Physics
- Dropping the units. A numerical answer without its unit is an incomplete answer. Write the unit at every stage, not just at the end.
- Attempting more parts than asked. If Q.2 says attempt any five, write five. Examiners generally mark the first five, so a brilliant sixth answer is wasted effort.
- Mixing up mass and weight. Mass is in kilograms and never changes; weight is a force in newtons and depends on g.
- Forgetting to convert temperatures. Kelvin = Celsius + 273, and the Fahrenheit conversion needs the 1.8 and the 32. Both appear in nearly every paper.
- Confusing scalars and vectors. Distance and speed are scalars; displacement, velocity and force are vectors and need a direction.
- Rounding too early. Carry the full value through the working and round only the final answer.
- Leaving the objective section until last. Tired students guess. Do Q.1 first while you are sharp, then leave it alone.
Why Every Paper Is Bilingual
Each question in these papers appears in English and in Urdu together, the way the Punjab board prints its own physics paper. That matters for two reasons. First, Urdu medium students sit a paper in which the symbols, units and numerals are still written in the usual international form, so practising from a bilingual sheet is far closer to the real thing than practising from a fully translated one. Second, many students revise in one language and answer in the other, and having both columns side by side lets them check that they have understood the question rather than merely recognised its wording. If a term is unfamiliar in one column, the other column is right there.
About Answer Keys
These papers are published as question papers only. A solved answer key is not included, and that is deliberate: a correct key matters far more than a quick one, and we would rather give you nothing than hand you answers we have not checked question by question. Mark your work against your textbook and the chapter notes, and ask your teacher about anything that stays unclear. For practice that does mark itself, the Class 9 Physics online tests show the correct option and a written explanation for every question the moment you submit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these guess papers for the 2026 annual examination?
Yes. They follow the Punjab Boards paper pairing scheme for the 2026 annual examination, which is printed on the header of every paper. Always confirm the current scheme with your own board before the exam, because boards do revise it.
Will the same questions come in my board paper?
Almost certainly not, and you should treat any site that promises otherwise with suspicion. What these papers give you is the right pattern, the right difficulty and the right spread of chapters, repeated often enough that the real paper feels familiar. That is what actually raises marks.
How many marks is the Class 9 Physics paper and how long is it?
The paper these guess papers model carries 60 marks over 2 hours 10 minutes: 12 marks of multiple-choice, 30 marks of short questions and 18 marks of long questions. Class 9 Physics also carries a separate practical component, which these written papers do not cover.
Are these papers free to download?
Yes. All 25 PDFs are free, there is no sign-up and nothing is locked. Download as many as you want and print them if you prefer working on paper, which for physics numericals is the better option.
I am an Urdu medium student. Do I need a different file?
No. Every paper in this set contains both mediums, so the file you download is the same one an English medium student downloads. Read the column you are comfortable with and answer in the medium you are registered for.
Should I do guess papers or online tests first?
Online tests first, chapter by chapter, because they are short, they mark themselves and they tell you immediately which topics are weak. Once two or three chapters feel solid, move to a full guess paper, which trains the stamina and the handwriting speed that a 130-minute exam demands.
Where to Go Next
If a full 60-mark paper feels like too much right now, take one chapter at a time. Start with the Chapter 1 online test and work along to Chapter 9, or jump to whichever chapter is giving you trouble — dynamics, work and energy, thermal properties or magnetism. Every one of them is listed under Class 9 Physics online papers, with the written solutions in Class 9 Physics notes.
Physics is rarely the only subject standing between you and a good aggregate. The Class 9 Maths guess papers and the Class 9 Biology guess papers follow the same bilingual format, and there are self-marking chapter tests for Class 9 Maths and Class 9 Biology too. For chemistry, see the Class 9 Chemistry chapter tests.
You can browse everything by subject from the Class 9 hub — Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English, Urdu and Islamiat — or look ahead to Class 10 Physics if you are already thinking about next year. The class hub lists every class and subject on the site.
Finally, check the examination schedule and the official pairing scheme with your own board rather than relying on any website, including this one. Most Punjab boards publish both on their own sites, for example BISE Lahore and BISE Gujranwala. ExamPaperDesk is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any board of intermediate and secondary education.
